BlurAway Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 8, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of BlurAway, operated by Telion Labs LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("BlurAway," "we," "us," or "our").
By uploading a file, purchasing processing services, checking an agreement box, or otherwise using BlurAway, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.
If you use BlurAway on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Service Description
BlurAway provides automated tools that detect, track, blur, pixelate, mask, or otherwise obscure faces and other selected portions of uploaded videos.
Automated detection is not perfect. BlurAway may miss a face or other sensitive item, lose tracking, obscure the wrong area, or produce an incomplete or unusable result.
BlurAway does not guarantee complete anonymization, legal compliance, or suitability for any particular purpose.
You are responsible for reviewing the complete processed video before publishing, sharing, distributing, or relying on it.
3. User Content and Upload Permissions
You retain ownership of the files you upload.
You grant BlurAway a limited, non-exclusive license to upload, store, copy, decode, analyze, modify, encode, transmit, and process your content only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, maintain security, prevent abuse, provide requested support, and comply with applicable law.
By uploading content, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have all necessary rights and permissions;
- You are legally permitted to record, possess, upload, and process it;
- You have obtained any legally required consent;
- Your use does not violate another person's privacy, publicity, confidentiality, copyright, or other legal rights; and
- Your intended use complies with applicable law.
Your agreement to these Terms does not make an otherwise unlawful recording or use lawful.
4. Prohibited Content and Uses
You may not upload or use BlurAway to process:
- Child sexual abuse material or content involving the sexual exploitation of minors;
- Nonconsensual intimate imagery;
- Content used to facilitate stalking, harassment, extortion, trafficking, abuse, or criminal activity;
- Content that you do not have the legal right to possess or process;
- Content uploaded in violation of a court order or legal obligation;
- Malware or files intended to damage, disrupt, or compromise the Service;
- Content that unlawfully infringes privacy, intellectual-property, contractual, or other rights; or
- Any other unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive material.
You may not reverse-engineer, overload, circumvent, scrape, resell, or misuse the Service.
BlurAway does not routinely watch or manually review uploaded videos. However, we may block, delete, preserve, restrict, suspend, or report content or accounts where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or others, investigate security or abuse, or comply with law.
We may cooperate with courts, law enforcement, regulators, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and other appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.
5. No Model Training on Uploaded Videos
BlurAway will not use uploaded videos, extracted frames, audio, or generated outputs to train general-purpose or customer-facing machine-learning models unless the user separately provides clear affirmative consent.
We may use non-content operational data, such as file format, duration, processing time, error codes, and aggregated usage statistics, to operate and improve the Service.
6. Storage and Deletion
Uploaded files and generated outputs are stored temporarily for processing, preview, and download.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Original uploads and generated outputs are scheduled for deletion from active processing systems within 24 hours after processing;
- Users may request earlier deletion where that feature is available;
- Deletion from backups, caches, logs, failed-job storage, and disaster-recovery systems may take additional time;
- Transaction, fraud-prevention, security, abuse, and legal records may be retained longer; and
- We may preserve relevant information where required by law, valid legal process, a security investigation, or a payment dispute.
BlurAway is not a permanent storage or backup service. You are responsible for downloading and retaining any output you wish to keep.
7. Human Access
BlurAway personnel do not routinely inspect uploaded videos.
Limited authorized access may occur where reasonably necessary to:
- Provide support requested by the user;
- Diagnose a processing failure;
- Investigate fraud, abuse, prohibited content, or security concerns;
- Prevent imminent harm; or
- Comply with applicable law or legal process.
8. Refund Policy
Payments for BlurAway credits are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record (see Section 9). Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with the Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy, available at [paddle.com/legal/refund-policy](https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy).
To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] with your transaction or job identifier, or contact Paddle's buyer support directly.
9. Payment and Merchant of Record
Paddle is our merchant of record. Payments for credits are processed by Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates), which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. This means Paddle — not Telion Labs LLC — is the seller of record for the transaction: Paddle charges your payment method, appears on your card or bank statement, issues receipts, provides billing support, processes refunds, and collects and remits any applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms and conditions.
Prices, credit amounts, processing-minute rules, file limits, and applicable taxes are shown before you complete a purchase.
Unless otherwise disclosed:
- Prices are in U.S. dollars;
- Applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST is calculated and collected by Paddle at checkout based on your location;
- Credits are not transferable or resalable;
- One credit covers one minute of exported video, and processing time may be rounded up to the next full minute;
- High-resolution or unusually complex files may require additional credits if disclosed before processing; and
- Failed jobs caused by a verified service error may have credits automatically restored.
10. User Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BlurAway, its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:
- Your uploaded content;
- Your lack of ownership, permission, authority, or consent;
- Your unlawful recording, possession, upload, processing, publication, or distribution of content;
- Your violation of another person's privacy, publicity, confidentiality, intellectual-property, or other rights;
- Your prohibited or unlawful use of the Service; or
- Your material violation of these Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlurAway disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, security, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.
We do not warrant that every face or sensitive item will be identified or obscured, that an output will comply with any law or regulation, or that files will never be lost, accessed, corrupted, or disclosed.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlurAway will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, or damages resulting from missed or incorrect redaction.
BlurAway's total aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid BlurAway during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- US $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Copyright and Abuse Reports
Copyright complaints may be sent to: [email protected]
Reports concerning illegal, abusive, or prohibited content may be sent to: [email protected]
Do not email copies of suspected illegal visual material. Provide the relevant job identifier, transaction reference, date, and description.
BlurAway may maintain a designated copyright agent and takedown process where applicable.
14. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where:
- You violate these Terms;
- Payment is fraudulent, reversed, or disputed;
- Your use presents a security, legal, operational, or safety risk;
- We reasonably suspect prohibited content or activity; or
- Continued service could expose BlurAway or others to harm or liability.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Washington law.
Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Snohomish County, Washington, except where nonwaivable consumer law provides otherwise.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will apply prospectively and will be communicated as required by law.
The Terms version and effective date displayed when you accept them will govern the applicable upload or transaction.
